Pastors & Staff

Heath Davis

Lead Pastor

Hi, there. My name is Heath, and I'm the lead Pastor here at Pinnacle. I have the greatest occupation in the world as Pastor of such a great church. Before entering the ministry, I served ten years in the U.S. Military as a Marine. After service in the Marines, I braved public education and taught at Canton Middle School. I'm also a graduate of NC State University (B.A. History), have studied at Gordon-Conwell Seminary, and have earned an M.A. in Theological Studies from Liberty University.

My hobbies include hiking, kayaking, and reading good books. My passion is leading people to become all that God intends for them to be. I am happily married to Shonda, my high school sweetheart and the most creative person I know.

Make sure to come say hi to me one Sunday!

Caleb Simmons

Connections Pastor

Hi there! My name is Caleb Simmons, and I am privileged to serve as the Connections Pastor at Pinnacle Church. My role is about helping people take their next steps in faith by overseeing ministries fostering connection and growth. I’m passionate about guiding others in their walk with Jesus, building strong teams, and equipping volunteers to live out our mission of reaching people for Christ.

I graduated from Clemson University in 2011 (Go Tigers!) and have been married to my amazing wife, Sally, for over a decade. Together, we’re raising two energetic boys, Reid and James, who bring us so much joy. When I’m not spending time with my family, you’ll likely find me knee-deep in a mountain creek, chasing native brook trout on a fly rod.
I’m honored to be part of what God is doing here at Pinnacle Church and would love to help you find your place to connect and grow.

Walker Stamey

Creative Pastor

Hello and welcome to Pinnacle Church! I'm Walker, and I serve as the Creative Pastor. I have the incredible privilege of leading our tech and creative teams to create meaningful and engaging worship experiences both in-person and online. A Haywood County native, I grew up here before earning my History degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While I originally planned to become a public school teacher, God led me on a different path, and I’m so grateful to be part of what He is doing at Pinnacle Church.

I’m blessed to share life and ministry with my best friend, Erica. We have an amazing daughter, Alice, and two pets—Dean, our chocolate lab, and Jude, our mischievous “house panther.”  When I’m not working, you can find me enjoying Star Wars, Dragon Ball, or diving into a good book—especially on a rainy day.

Tommy Payne

Worship Pastor

Hi, I’m Tommy—thanks for taking a moment to read this.  I’m a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who loves good music, fresh air, and time with the people I love most. My faith is a big part of who I am, and I try to live each day with purpose and gratitude. That doesn’t mean I have it all together—I wrestle with my own flaws and shortcomings just like anyone else. But I believe grace is real, and I’m thankful every day for second chances.

One of the biggest blessings in my life is my wife. She’s my partner in life and ministry, and she’s truly amazing—kind, wise, and an incredible mom to our three boys who are growing into great young men. As a family, we love being outside—whether it’s camping, hitting the beach, hiking trails, or just being silly together.

I also have the privilege of leading the music team at our church. It's a place where people come as they are, and the music is all about honesty and heart. We sing because life is complex and beautiful and sometimes hard—and music helps us all make sense of it. Whether you're full of faith, full of questions, or just love good music, you're always welcome here.

Erica Stamey

Community Director

Hello, welcome to my bio. I've been on staff here at Pinnacle for a decade now! I am passionate about community, and I'm honored to work with our partners and non-profits to help be For Haywood. I also love getting to help connect people within their community, whether through our community events like movie nights or through our varies communication channels. I have my B.A in communications and a minor in sociology from Appalachian State. It has been amazing to see our community come together over the years to be there for each other, and I'm proud Pinnacle has been a part of that.

I'm married to my best friend, Walker Stamey, and together we’re raising our sweet (and very energetic!) toddler. We also share our home with two beloved fur babies. In my downtime, I enjoy reading, crafting, and tending to my garden. I'm always up for a game of Magic: The Gathering or diving into a cozy video game—Stardew Valley has my heart. If I had to choose a Pokémon starter, it would definitely be Bulbasaur, and my favorite cryptid? The Loch Ness Monster, hands down.

If you see me at church, please feel free to say hi.

Ashley Payne

 Next-Gen Coordinator

Hi! I’m Ashley, and I have the incredible privilege of serving as the Next Gen Coordinator here at Pinnacle. I truly believe I have one of the best roles—getting to walk alongside the next generation as they grow in faith, confidence, and kindness. My heart is fully invested in creating a space where kids and students feel seen, welcomed, and deeply loved. I’m passionate about helping them build an authentic relationship with Jesus and learn how to love others well.

I’m married to Tommy—he’s the coolest cat around—and we’re raising three fierce, adventurous boys who keep us on our toes in the best way. Our family also includes McCaffrey, the world’s sweetest (and most spoiled) golden doodle.

When I’m not with our amazing kids and families at church, you’ll find me behind a camera, painting, camping in the woods, or diving into a good book. If you ever see me around, don’t be shy—I’d love to meet you!

Erin Littrell

PC Kidz Coordinator

Hi, I’m Erin! I couldn’t be more excited to serve your families by sharing the love of Jesus through PC Kidz. Every lesson, every smile, and every moment with your children is a chance to plant seeds of faith that can grow for a lifetime. Being part of kids ministry is a true privilege—walking alongside the next generation as they discover who God is and how much He loves them is one of the greatest honors of my life.

I’ve been married to my best friend, Bradley, for 13 years, and together we’re raising two amazing kids, Maddox and Marleigh. When I’m not serving at church, you’ll likely find me outdoors with my family—fishing, paddleboarding the Pigeon, or relaxing in a lawn chair watching my chickens. I also have a serious love for black jelly beans (no shame!) and a talent for finding shark teeth.

If you have questions about PC Kidz please let me know. I am here for you and your family!
