What is For Haywood?

FOR HAYWOOD is a movement designed to answer the question: What do you want to be known for? Often, a gap exists between what we want to be known for and how others see us. We want to be a church known for being for the community.

There are heroes in nonprofits and community organizations throughout our county who provide us with opportunities to make a lasting impact in our community. We created FOR HAYWOOD to highlight them, partner alongside them, and celebrate their good work.

We need skilled volunteers for specialized tasks like plumbing, carpentry, and repairs to support flood recovery efforts. Mountain Projects aims to build 10 homes for flood victims—if you have experience and can help, we’d love to hear from you!

Christmas Assistance

We know the holidays can be especially tough for families, and our Christmas Assistance Program is here to help. Each year, we partner with local schools, DSS, and other Haywood County organizations to provide Christmas gifts for children seventeen and younger whose families need extra support. We also serve families who homeschool or have children in alternative learning situations through this application. If you’ve already signed up for assistance through your child’s school or another local nonprofit we’re working with, there’s no need to apply here, as we’re unable to provide duplicate assistance. Our goal is to make sure every child experiences the joy of Christmas and every parent feels the joy of giving. Click the button below to apply—please submit one form per child by December 4th.
